Acts 8:36-37
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Phillip listened to God’s instruction and ended up in a chariot preaching to a complete stranger. He was ready to do the work of God and stayed close enough to God to answer his call. Most of us say we will go where God sends us. Most of us claim that we are ready. But if a complete stranger came to you and asked you to lead them to Jesus, would you have the answers they need? What if they asked you to pray with them? Would you first have to pray for forgiveness over your own transgressions? If you have to stop and pray for yourself, you are not ready at all. You have to be ready just like Phillip was. He listened so intently that he baptized a complete stranger. Instead of just saying you are ready to work, know deep down that you are.
