2 Samuel 12:22-23
22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things we go through. We set back and wish for just a few more minutes with them. However, we can never bring them back. King David realized this after losing his child. He had fasted and prayed while the child lived but God had other plans. The mighty king accepted this but realized that one day he would get to reunite with his lost child. We can never bring our loved ones back, but know that if they were Christians, we will reunite with them one day. That reunion will be the best one yet. When your breaking down over their loss, just remember one day we will go to them.
