His Thoughts Are Not Ours

Isaiah 55:8-9


8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.


Today we took my oldest son for an echo. We thought it was going to work out. My wife and I just knew he would lay still and everything would go great. Well, we were wrong. He did not intend to lay still. It made me think of how we think of how things are going to work in life. We know the exact way God wants us to go, but we have it wrong. God had a different thought for us from the beginning. We get so caught up in the way we think things should go that we never stop and ask God his thoughts on it. It would save us a lot of heart ache, but be ready. Just like my son, who would not change his mind today, I do not think you will be able to change God’s mind. His will is far above our will.
