Proverbs 13:24
24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
There is a new trend going about. Parents are trying to be their children’s best friends instead of being an adult. All of us want to be the cool parent. The one the kids want to be like. We want out kids to want to be around us. There one problem with that, God wants you to be a parent. I have a saying about my children. I will be their friend when they become adults, but until then I am the father. You see God trusted me to raise them in his way. I am supposed to correct them when they do wrong. That is how they learn. I do this because I love them. I don’t want them going down the wrong path. Kids have to learn the consequences to their actions. If you are wondering when to punish them and to raise them, ask God to lead and guide you. He will show you what to do. Just remember, be a parent you can become friends when they are adults.
