Zechariah 7:9-11
9 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
11 But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
So many times I read the old testament and I find things that look like the world today. I see so many pushed to the side and judged. A man who does not know his father is looked down on for something he had no control over. A widow is not tended to by the sisters of the church. We are terrified of strangers, because the world has become so evil. The poor are shoved to the side. Let’s not even start on the brothers hating each other. Why have become so cold? Why will we not listen to the words of God? I want to see the day when we take the fatherless child and as Christians teach them what the absent parent has failed to do. I want to see the church come together to make sure the widow/widower have no worries. I want to see strangers walk into a services and be treated like they belong again. It would be amazing to see people reach out and help the poor get back on thier feet. The day when brothers love one another again. I know we can get back to this. I know we can open our ears to the words of God. We can learn once more to open our hearts. It is times we as Christians take out the ear plugs and turn to God. We first must learn to follow his instructions, and then we will see these very things come to pass.
