Show Respect

Matthew 21:12-13

12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

The people had began to disrespect the temple that was held in such high regard. They acted like it was nothing but to Christ it was like a smack in the face. How would you feel if I walked into your house and showed no respect for you nor your home? You would probably ask me to leave. So, why do we do this to the house of God. Why do we talk during the sermon or not pay attention to the preaching? You may think it is nothing, but I have seen preachers become disheartened by the disrespect. Most preachers pour thier hearts into thier sermons. They study and pray nonstop for God to lead them. I know most can watch a sporting event without even going to the restroom. So, why not give the same respect to the minister. We have fallen into a routine of laughing and joking throughout the singing and preaching. It has to stop. It is time we respect the whole house of God and everything that goes with it. That includes the Sunday school teachers, the singers, and the preacher. Let’s start respecting the house of God.
