1 Kings 17:13-14

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

We have all hit hard times. We know what it’s like to have our bank account run low or our cabinets empty out. It gets even harder when we have families. You have to make sure your children eat and you pray they have enough. What would you do if God sent someone to your house and wanted you to give him the last thing you had? Could you do it? It is a hard decision. This widow had given up and was ready to eat the last of her food die with her son. No rain had fallen and with the famine food was limited. However, she did what God wanted and for that reason the barrels never went empty. That is the power of our God. He can put money in your account, put food in you cabinets, and make it to where you never need. However, we must first obey what he tells us to do and then watch your barrel of oil never run dry.
