Seasons

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Tonight I went to a funeral of a family friend and the uncle of my brothers wife. It was a time of mourning, but as people stood and spoke of the times this man brought so much joy into thier lives. The pastor to of how the season of Jeff’s life had passed and that his time had come to an end and he was called home. It made me realize that all the seasons of our lives will pass and one day we will be called home. We will go through times of sadness, pain heartache, laughter, love, and so many others. Then one day we will be called home. Our seasons in this walk of life will end and we will head home to be with our lord. Some of us will have more seasons of pain and heartache while others will have a shorter seasons in life we will all come to an end. The one thing we can do is leave hope to others. That when the preacher stands over us it can be said we walked by faith, that we stood firm not matter what, and that you could see the love of God in each of us. Don’t let your season end without leavi g a memory that you was a Christian so I others can follow your example to Christ.
