Closer Than A Brother

Proverbs 18

24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Today I had some friends come up to have dinner with my family. We met them we we lost a good friend and became more of family than friends. As we sat and laughed, my mind began to run back through all the people that I had become friends with. I though of my tank gunner, a man that taught me so much about tanks. We were brothers. I thought of a co worker who would has sat at the gym and let me rant and blow off steam when life was falling apart. I thought of the one who pushed me to start the word of the day. I though of many who had been there. Everyone has become brothers and were no longer considered friends. It’s hard to you get closer to that with anyone. However, Christ is just that. He is closer than a brother. You don’t have to wait for him to wake up and answer the phone. He is always listening. You don’t have to drive to his house or meet at the gym for him to help you. All you have to do is give the situation to him. He is always there and always ready to comfort you. He is ready to be there for all of us. All we have to do is accept him. He will be closer to you than anyone in your family.
