James 2:18-20
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
We hear about faith all the time, and how we must have it. It is great to have faith, however, we must also do the works to fulfill that faith. A good example is a farmer believing God will bless his crop but he never planted a seed. I’m not saying God can’t grow craps from nothing, because we all know he can. I am only saying that God expects us to put in some work. It’s like thinking your job will pay you, but you don’t ever go to work. God wants us to meet him halfway. He wants us to work for it. Now, work is not always hard labor. Sometimes God just wants us to move. I have heard stories of a preacher that when his family’s cabinets was empty and there was no money for food, he walked to his mailbox praying. There was an envelope in it with money. His work was only to trust God enough to walk to his mailbox. It may just be God telling you to pray for someone to prove that you have thr faith they can be healed. We as Christians must learn to put these together and prove our faith through our works. By doing this we will not only prove that we have faith, but also that Christians have not forgotten the work that God has called us to do.
