Gensis 19:25-26
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
I grew up hearing, remember Lot’s wife. What does that mean? Why should we focus on someone who failed to follow one simple rule, don’t look back. That’s exactly why we should remember her. When we leave our sinful ways we are supposed to keep looking forward and not look back and miss where we came from. When we look back we began to get tempted by that same sin we just crawled out of. God wants us to leave it behind, but so many of us look back and start messing it. We do not know why we miss it but we do. Stop looking back like Lot’s wife and focus on moving forward. She was just rescued from an extremely sinful city by angels. Yet she still couldn’t let the sin go. For that she will always be remembered as the one who looked back and become a pillar of salt.
