I Am My Brother’s Keeper

Gensis 4

9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Are we our brother’s keeper? Are we supposed to help and take care of our brothers and sisters in Christ? Look at it this way I have 3 brothers. Anyone who knows us will tell you that we pick at each other, but when someone else says something to any of us we stand up for each other. We take care of one another. We were raised that if one of us falls and the others do nothing to help than we have failed. We are each others keepers. Should it be this way in Christ? The answer is yes. We should watch out for one another. When we see a brother or sister struggling, reach out and help. Pray for and encourage them. Let them know they are not alone. We should look at our brothers and sisters in Christ the same way we look at blood family, because they are true family. If we set back and watch them fall and do nothing to help are we any better than what made them fall? What if your kind words could have helped them? What if you being there gave them strength? You can be thier keeper. You can be the strength when they are weak. I don’t care what comes at my family in Christ, I will fight to hold my family up, because I am my brothers’ keeper.
