Gensis 3:4-5
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil
The serpent knew how to get to Eve. He knew how to tempt her and in turn tempt her husband. He knew by making her see only the glory that the knowledge would bring them they would never think of the consequences of disobeying God. He never told them that they would be kicked out of the garden and face a hard life of working the fields. They had it made. They would walk through the garden with God. They didn’t have to plow fields nor hunt. They where in paradise, but the serpent was still able to get to them. It was like they never saw it comeing. I see allot of that today. Christian are on cloud 9, serving God, and living a holy life. Then, out of no where, you see them fall into sin and leave church. I have spoken with some who have returned, they will tell you they do not know how the sin tempted them so much. They will say they felt so strong but some how fell to the temptation. It’s like when you see someone get blindsided in a football game. A guy half thier size takes them off thier feet. That is what Satan does. He catches us not looking and blindsides us. I know we are supposed to keep our eyes on Jesus, but thier is a reason christian is compared to a soldier, because a soldier is always on guard. Adam and Eve were not and they fell and lost paradise, so I beg you be on guard and watch out for the blind side from the devil. If you see a brother or sister about to get blind sided, help them. The serpent is sneaky, but we are more powerful than him because Christ in us.
