Psalms 25:4-5
4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day
I know a preacher who before he even picks out an outfit he asks God for guidance on what to wear. Just like most I used to think that was a little overboard. I used to until I realized what he was truly doing. He wants God to direct his every thought and move. He is willing to wait on God’s guidance on even his clothing. Now, in today’s time we are having to make decisions on a split second. We fill we don’t have time to wait on God’s answer, we need it as soon as we ask. Everyone expects and answer faster than our minds can process a question. If your don’t believe me go to a restaurant and see how annoyed your waiter is if you don’t hurry with the menu. Or stand in a line at McDonald’s looking at the menu and see how aggravated people behind you become. No one has patience anymore. Now I am not saying stand in line and ask God what he wants you to eat, you can, but there are decisions God wants us to wait and ask him for guidance. It could be a new home, it could be taking a new job, or maybe even a decision that is being forced on you. It’s hard to set still and say ok God what do I do, and then wait on his guidance. We get impatient and the enemy will try to persuade you to make a choice. WAIT ON GOD! What if you make the wrong choice and it goes against God? Well you have to answer to him. It is much better to get his input. You might say, well I could lose my job. If God is guiding you, I promise if you lose your job he will have a better one for you. You might say my spouse will get upset. Once again wait on God and he will deal with them and get them on the same page. When you wake up ask God, “What do you want me yo do today?” Then hand him the keys to the car and let him drive. I promise he won’t take you off a cliff.
