2 Timothy 4:7
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Today my family got news that broke our hearts. My Uncle has went home to be with the Lord. Though my heart breaks, I can’t help but think of our talk when I was a young man joining the military. He looked at me and said, “what they teach you, take with you like I did. Defend the ones who can’t defend themselves. Even when it gets hard stand tall and keep going. Just like your good old Uncle Skip, you will make a good soldier. But all I ask is you don’t wait as long as I did to find God and have faith in him.” With that he hugged my neck and told me he was proud of me. It may have taken the Korean War veteran a few years to find God, but after he did, he fought the good fight, he kept his faith and now he has finished his course. So Clyde Edison “Skip” Delk Jr. Go rest high and I will continue the good fight and keep the faith.
