Second Death

1 John 2:25

25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

Revelations 2:11

11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

You have two choices in life, one is called eternal life and one is called the second death. Why would anyone choose the latter? Why would you not want to be on the winning side? It is simple, they either have convinced themselves that there is no afterlife or that no loving God would send them to hell. The truth is many believe they are on the winning side because they do good deed, that amounts to nothing without accepting Christ. So, why not be certain? Why would you not want to make sure that you ticket to heaven has been punched? Good deeds without Christ will only get people to talk good about you at your funeral. If you think God will not send you to Hell, you are right, because he does not send you, you chose to go. You must be certain that you have accepted Christ and therefore earned your eternal life. If you fail to do this, you will face the second death and you will spend eternity without the love of God.
