Don’t Look Back

Genesis 19:26
26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

Luke 9:62
62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

I remember growing up on a farm, and the first time my dad let me run the plow, I kept looking behind me to see how I was doing. It took me a second to realize that I was going off course. After a few times, I learned it doesn’t matter what is behind me. All that matters is in front of me. Christians need to stop looking back to see how they are doing because, like Lot’s wife, the enemy shows them the fun they used to have. They become enticed and never realize how far off the straight and narrow they went. All you have to do is keep looking forward. Keep looking to God, and you will stay straight.
