Celebration

Psalms 146:1


1 Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.


I went to my brother’s house tonight for a small get together. While there, some of them started watching football. The way they got excited and acted you would think thier entire life depended on that game. They acted like each play was made just for them. Now in reality those players did not know any of them. It did not matter to them that every first down my brothers would celebrate. Then a thought occurred to me, “what if they celebrated like that over Christ?” It would be amazing to see them jump and cheer the preacher on when he spoke. Cheer when the choir sangs Amazing Grace. When the family that they had been praying to get into church walks through the door they would jump up and shout. It would be amazing because unlike those football players Jesus did do it all for us. He carried the cross up the hill and then hung on it. It didn’t end there, it was only the beginning. The spirit was sent to bring us all in to him and he is still there making intercession for us. That is something that deserves so much more celebration than any sporting event. So let us praise his Holy name.
