Psalms 135:15-18
15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
People all o er the world still follow false idols. They bow to these statues and give gifts to them in hope that the stone or wooden carving will give them a blessing. Sounds crazy, but what idol have Christians been following. I see Christians who would rather watch football instead of go to church or read their Bibles. I see Christians listen more to the government than to thier God. Believe it or not, this verse pertains to all of us. You may love your truck so much that it has become your idol. It may be your house. It could even be the members of your government. Guess what. Not one of those things care about your needs. They don’t care if you live your die. If you are sick or struggling. They have no power to change that, and yes I include the corrupt governments of the world in that. God has the power to heal you and your family. Make money just appear when it was no where to be found. He can even make your enemies at peace with you. Make sure the Godnyou are serving is not an idol, but the one true living God. He has the ears to hear, and the mighty voice to answer.
