Matthew 5:14-16
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
A few months ago I had a heart catheter procedure. After it the procedure the nurse brought me a turkey sandwhich, I took two bites and then hid it under my blanket. For some reason I thought the nurse was going to take my sandwhich. That is how we have become with our lights as Christians. We are afraid that the world will take our light, just like I was afraid of the nurse taking my sandwhich. The thing is, the world is not capable of taking your light nor able to put it out. Let your light shine. Let people see God inside of you. Be separate from the world and be a beacon to the world. Let sinners know that there is hope. We cannot do this if we hide our light, so let it shine.
