I Have Not Seen But I Believe

John 20:29

29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Have you ever seen Christ face to face, placed your finger in the nail scars in his hands and feet, or have you touched the whole in his side? The answer is mostly likely no, but yet you still believe and follow his teachings. Some call us crazy for this very reason. What makes us follow Christ and believe in him? Is it the fact that almost all his disciples died horrible deaths because they refused to denounce him? That does show that they had a true conviction to his call and saw something that made them believe. I think it is more than that. I believe that something deep inside of us knows that he is real. We go against the world to say that we believe in Jesus and that he died for our sin. For this Christ said you are blessed. The faith it takes to say I know he is real and I know he died for my sins. No matter who laughs at me or makes fun of me, I will follow him. I know he is there making intercessions with the Father on my behalf. To believe that takes faith that the world can never understand. That faith makes you very blessed. So, consider yourself blessed.
