Obadiah 1:3-4
3 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
4 Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
You can build your mighty fortress. You may think that you did everything on your own. You may think that you have accomplished it all on your own. Your pride is blinding you. Without God, you would have nothing. He gave you the ability to do all that you have done. A surgeon would not have the steady hands without God. A scientist would have no intelligence without it being his will. He gives us every talent we possess, but for some reason we begin to thank we have gained our talents ourselves. We become prideful and begin to stop thanking God. Guess what, God will bring you back down and show you that it was never you. He is the only reason you can do anything. So I beg you come off your high horse before God knocks you off of it.
