Romans 16:17-19
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
When I first went to high-school there was seniors who sold tickets to the pool on the roof of the gym. All kinds of new comers would buy them and became excited. Me having 3 older brother knew that no such pool existed so I spread the word to my friends so they never bought a ticket. The upper classes played on the freshmen’s lack of knowledge. We all have met people who use the word to gain power. They will try to twist the word for personal gain. They feed of the unlearned just as the upper classes did in high-school. Instead of being led down the wrong path, become wise in scripture. When someone e tells you something in in Bible dig into your Bible and see if it is truly there. Become wise in the good book. Pray and let God lead you. I have had many people say things to me that they said was scripture. They even quoted what book it came from, only to find that no search verse ever existed. Become wise in the word. Then help others become wise. Don’t be led by someone who only cares for the own agenda, instead of someone who only cares of spreading the word of truth.
