A Godly Woman

Proverbs 14:1

1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

Lately I have made a pledge to myself to be better mentally, spiritually, and physically. I try to read my Bible more, lose weight, and unload the stress of life. Today I showed my wife my wieght loss had progressed another 1.5 pounds. She could have brushed it off as not even 2 pounds but instead she told me how proud she was of me. I got a little pep in my step after that. As I watched her throughout the day she would praise our children for small task as if they had climbed Everest. I watched as it built our 3 year old up, the other son is not even 3 months old yet. This evening I asked her what she had been studying and praying for, her answer, “to be a better mother, wife that encourages more, and be there for her husband. That is when this came to mind and how she had been the one to encourage me and tell me I was doing good as a preacher. I realize just how important she is to my walk. A wife can build her husband up or tear him down just by speaking. Us men will act like what is said doesn’t bother us, but it has an impact. If a mother speaks down to her children she can destroy them. A woman of God should be encouraging her family and praying for them. I’m not saying she has no say and should only stand behind her family. When I am burdened with bills and stress of life my wife can simply tell me I am doing a great job and the weight is lifted. God knew what he was doing by giving her so much compassion. So, men if your wife is building you up let her know, if she is tearing you down pray for her. Don’t tell her off, pray God will speak to her and deal with her heart. Women be that builder. Set down and tell the men you are proud of them. Push them to do better. Don’t let them settle. I know christian women will pray for God to help her family more than herself. That is because a mother or wife cares more about everyone else than themselves. You single men, search for a woman that will build you up. To all you Christian women who stand who push and build up your family in God, keep it up, you are doing a great job.
