Let God’s Glory Shine

1 Peter 4:12

12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy

A few weeks ago I handed my 3 year old over to a surgeon to do a major open heart surgery that had to happen or we would lose him. It was a trial my family had to go through, and to honest it hurt. I remember handing him to the nurse and his big brown eyes looked at us and he smiled. My wife and I both broke into tears. Yea I consider myself a tough man, but that day I felt weak. I remember us waiting for the hourly updates and finding out the first procedure, they had hoped to work, had failed and now he would be in surgery for longer. When it was all said and done he had been in surgery for over 10 hours. They said he would be in the hospital for over 2 weeks. God had other plans, because 4 days later my 3 year old walked out of the hospital. I do not tell you this to get petty. No I tell you this to point this out, I had nurses say it is impossible for him to leave here let alone walk himself out. They had to acknowledge a miracle. You see when we go through our trials, are persecuted, and everything is falling apart that is when we should prepare for him to move on our situations and show his glory. He will use that battle to help others. It hurts in those battles and you may feel beaten down, but please hold on. God is going to use this in ways you cannot imagine.
