1 Peter 5:5
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Today I was working on pulling the wheel off my truck in order to replace a wheel hub assembly. My dad and older brother both told me to be careful with the lug nuts because they were after market and aluminum. I got arrogant and said I know what I am doing. Well now I have a broken lug nut so bad that a socket will not get it. After setting there staring at my tuck thinking what to do next, I finally called my dad and brother to ask for help. The moral is when God told us to submit to our elders and listen to them he knew what he was doing. You see the elders have lived through allot of the problems we have been through. They have walked though those trials and learned how to depend on God. All of us in the younger generation get proud and think that we know more than then because they are old and broke down. We have to stop and humble ask them for advice and listen to them. Do not be so proud that you think you know more than someone who has walked as a true Christian longer than you and has faced numerous trials. If you get proud, God may just let you break a lug nut to the point you have to drill out the entire stub.
