Grow our Heritage

Psalms 127:3

3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Heritage-property that is or may be inherited; an inheritance.

Now I put the definition of a word that really should stand out of this verse. What it is saying is children are inherited and gifted to us. Now, say you inherited some land from your father. You can leave the land be and let weeds take it over, you can only do the bare minimum and keep it mowed and cleaned, or you can nurture the land and build it into something amazing. Our kids, our inheritance, is the same way. If we neglect them then they have no direction, if we only do the bare minimum they will stay the same, but if we give them the right direction in life by raising them in God and leading them the right way they will grow in beauty. You have to put in work. At times it is hard. Kids don’t want to listen. They want to think they know more than their parents. God knew it wouldn’t be easy, but it would be worth it. Today our heritage of God is being stolen. They want to pull our kids away from church and the bible. That is why it is up to us as Christians, to not only raise them, but also protect them. I want my 2 sons to stand with me in Christ and not against me. In order for that to happen I have to teach and nurture them. I have to pray for God to give me guidance. I challenge every parent to do the same. So, let us take our heritage and lead our children down the right path of God.
