John 9:1-3
1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
It is no secret that I have a child who was born with a heart condition. When he was born, I constantly asked God what I had done for an innocent child to be born and have to go through the things he did? I begged God to punish me and not my child. Then one day a good man made me open my eyes. He explained that if everyone was born healthy without any problems, would we see the miracle of healing. Yea, my child had to endure several procedures, but I have been able to tell people of how God kept his hand on him. Jesus made it clear that no one had sinned for the man to be born blind. He was born blind for Christ to show the greatness of God. Before you say that it is terrible for a man to be born blind just for God to show his power, I am sure the blind man never complained and was more grateful for his sight than any of us. So if you are like me and are blessed with a child that has health problems, know that it is not a punishment for something you have done. Know that your child has a purpose and God will use them for something amazing.
