Using What God Taught Us

James 1:22-25

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

This is like owning tools and not using them. You can go buy yourself the best tools and store them in a fancy tool box. You know what they are and how to use each one of them, but you never get them out. They become useless. It does not matter how expensive they were. If not used, they are paper weights. However, if you put those tools to use, you can build something amazing. When we hear the word and never put it to use, it is just like that tool in the tool box. We have to get out and put the word to use. When we get to using the word and things God teaches us, we can build something truly beautiful. If we use what God has given us, we can see people healed of addiction, sick become well, and even sinners turn from their wicked ways. Once you have learned the word, it is time to get to work. Start praying again. Start having faith again. Just get out and testify again. Let’s get back to taking what we have learned and teach others.
