Daniel 1:8
8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Could you imagine being a captive in a foreign land and the king offers you a portion of his food? That would be amazing. However, you know this food was made for a king that considered himself a God. Could you still eat it? I mean your hungry, God will understand. Daniel said no and refused to eat it. We need to be more like Daniel. No matter what is offered to us. If God tells us not to partake than back away. Nothing is free. Everything comes with a price. What that price is I choose not to find out. Before you accept the things that are offered to you, pray and seek God. Ask him is it good to accept. It could be a million dollars and God tell you no. If he does then you better listen to him. He knows what he is doing just listen and trust in him.
