Adopted

Romans 8:14-17

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

I hear many Christians complain about what they lack in life. Their car is not new enough, they don’t have the amount of money the want, or the want more social status. They act like they are never satisfied. They take the verse above only for the fact that God owns it all and they are his heirs, so they are entitled. Look, God will bless you. He will give you what you need, but he has already given you Jesus Christ. He adopted you. That is more than enough for me. The Bible says he gave his only begotten son so we could have life. It’s like letting your child go to prison for all the crimes the inmates committed, releasing all the convicted felons, and then adopting them. Sounds crazy, right? However, that is exactly what God did. So be thankful for the adoption into the family of God.
