Psalms 23:4
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
This verse stood out to me today while watching the news. Every where you turn there is sickness, death, and turmoil. People are terrified. We are afraid of what the enemy can do to us to the point we begin to give into fear. What if I told you that you didn’t have to be afraid? What if I said God is greater than your fear? Think of it like this, when sheppard would herd the sheep they carried a staff. That staff would give them something to lean on when they got tired. It would guide the sheep, but it was also used as a weapon to defend the sheep from predators such as a wolf. Christ is our sheppard is leading us through the valley, don’t be distracted by fear. Look to him when the wolf’s are howling. He is guiding and protecting us. Get back to taking comfort in knowing we will come out on top. We will face turmoil and strife, but if you let Jesus guide us, it will all be ok. We have to follow the Great Sheppard through this valley. He is the only way out.
