Shut the Mouth Of Lions

Daniel 6:21-24

21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.

22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

23 Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den

I remember watching show about lions and thinking how I would hate to have to face one. I would not stand a chance. They are one of natures top predators, but to think Daniel knew he would have to face a den of hungry lions if he did not stop praying to God. Yet, he stilled prayed and God delivered him from the hungry beast. In our live’s today we are mocked and laughed at for our faith. The lions are roaring at our doors. So many decide to follow the crowd. They don’t speak of faith and fall away from true teaching because that is the new normal. Why not be more like Daniel. When the lions roar turn to our God and he will shut their mouth. When the people tell us we can no longer pray in public. Do it any ways. We will face the lions and it will be difficult at times, but finish the story. All those who came against Daniel were then cast to the lions. All his accusers payed a price. God will handle our battles and hand us the victory as long as we do not back down and continue to serve him. Our accusers will never over come the power of God. So continue to serve him.
