Job 1:20-22
20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
This passage has been on my mind a lot lately. We as Christians will get mad when a blessing is pulled away from us. We think that once it is given then there is no reason that God should take it away. Sometimes we look through our life and try to figure out what we did wrong. The truth is we may not have done nothing wrong at all. It may have just been time for God to take the blessing. It is a hard thing to experience and depending on what that blessing is, you may think that you cannot continue without it. You may feel that losing that blessing will break you. Just remember Job. He lost it all, and yet found a way to still give thanks unto God. Be thankful for the blessings you still have. There may be a reason that God took those blessings back. So, be like Job and learn to give praise unto God when the world seems to be falling apart around you. Give thanks when it feels like there is no hope, because God went back and gave Job more than he could have ever asked for, but even if he didn’t, I believe Job would have still praised God.
